Steiner’s theorem – a theorem related to the analysis of moments of inertia. For geometric moments of inertia, it states that the moment of inertia of a figure about any axis is equal to the sum of the moment of inertia about a parallel axis passing through the centroid of the figure and the product of the area of the figure and the square of the distance between the two axes.
